The season began with most of the volunteers working on the
western square, an area previously explored in the spring.
During the week, additional ground was opened
on the eastern side of the square. It proved a labor intensive plot which produced
little at first.....but would yield much in the following weeks.
The Bedouin workers were busy expanding the northern section they had worked
in the spring and a small crew began to further explore the
mosaic we discovered during the last season. After work one day we all headed north
the khan Jubb Yusuf(Joseph's Well) where Katia gave an informative account of the site.
